Caleb’s Hope is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable women and children affected by war, poverty, and HIV/AIDS. At Caleb’s Hope we believe in everyone’s fundamental right to education, access to healthcare, right to an income, as well as safety and security.
Our mandate is micro-economic programs and the arts. An unusual combo maybe to some, but not to founder Holly Dignard. As a working artist, she knows the power of art. Art is a beautiful tool to educate, counsel, inspire and affect positive social change worldwide. It’s a universal language that everyone can understand and feel whether it be a dance, a piece of music, filmmaking, or a single picture.
Micro-economics by definition is ‘a study of economics in terms of individual areas of activity’. In developing regions like Northern Uganda, people need jobs. It’s that simple. Jobs generate income. Income buys food, shelter, school fees, and medicine. Not to mention it gives one integrity, self-respect, and empowerment. Job-creation and village banking is a very big mandate for Caleb’s Hope. Our goal is to provide innovative job-creation programs that are built to last. Long after the NGOs leave.
Caleb’s Hope is a humanitarian organization with projects in Kenya and Uganda with hopes to grow throughout East Africa and eventually worldwide. Our emphasis is women and child welfare, protection, and empowerment.
The purpose of Caleb’s Hope is not only to raise awareness but to get people from all walks of life involved and engaged in the world around them.
We’re all citizens of this planet. We’ve done a lot of taking and it’s time to give back.
